Members of the Charleston County School District Security and Emergency Management team pose in front of the district’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), which was expanded in 2021 to provide additional office space and facilities to support overnight emergency operations such as a shower and kitchenette. The EOC has been activated for 24-hour operations during past events such as Hurricane Dorian in 2019 and a snow/ice storm in 2018, as well as daytime operations for events such as the first day of school, Election Day, and high school graduations.
