Security Director Gives Back to Community That Raised Him
A product of the schools he now leads, CS K-12 Director of the Year winner Demario Boone has dedicated his entire career to the city where he grew up.

- Heroes Behind the Badge Award (2016)
- Named one of the Forty Leaders Under 40 by Peoria Magazine (2019)
SAFETY & SECURITY
- Secured and implemented Crisis Go emergency software for Peoria Public Schools
- Created the School Safety Online Report System to track data and assist with social and emotional needs of students
- Served on the team that created active assailant training for schools across Illinois
- Conducts active killer presentations for staff in all Peoria schools
- Liaison between the Peoria Police Department, the Peoria County Sheriff’s Department, and the community
- Member of the City of Peoria’s Advisory Committee on Police Community Relations
- Trained as a racial justice and equity facilitator, he was a panelist for the Peoria Summit on Racial Justice and Equity in March 2019
MISCELLANEOUS
- Assists with other agencies to provide school supplies to students
- Leads numerous food drives throughout the year
- Adopter of the Little Free Library outside Lincoln K-8 School
