Congratulations to Dr. Felix Martinez, Director of Public Safety at St. Mary’s College of Maryland in St. Mary’s City, Md., for being named one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.
Some of his notable achievements include:
- Implemented a campus public safety advisory board, comprised of students, faculty, and staff members.
- Significantly expanded coverage of security cameras, expanded campus body-cam program, improved lighting, introduced a card access control system, and license plate recognition cameras.
- Won a grant from the Maryland Higher Education Commission’s Campus Safety Initiative totaling $375,000.
