Congratulations to Ramona Washington, chief of police at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas for being named one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Some of her notable achievements include:

  • Inspired by the 30×30 Initiative, gathered leaders from Denton PD and the FBI Dallas office to co-host an event to inform women on how to begin a law enforcement career. More than 100 attended.
  • Planned and implemented UNT’s first co-responder mental health program, pairing licensed counselors and police officers.
  • Created UNT’s first position to assess threats.
