JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A teacher fired from the Episcopal School of Jacksonville on March 6 returned to the school with a gun in a guitar case and shot the headmistress to death before killing himself.
Shane Schumerth, 28, was a Spanish teacher at the school, the Associated Press reports. Dale Regan, the head of the school, had worked there for more than 30 years.
The school was put into lockdown after officers received reports of a person with a gun. No students were injured.
