“At approximately 3:23 PM on July 7, 2024, Public Safety Officer Jonathan Tovar was stationed at the ER Podium when he conducted a routine safety search of a visitor. During the search, Officer Tovar discovered a concealed firearm on the person of the visitor. Upon questioning, the visitor initially denied having a concealed carry permit (CCW) and claimed the item was a pocket knife. However, after further questioning, the visitor admitted that it was a pellet gun and voluntarily placed it on the ER Podium table. Officer Tovar confiscated the firearm and transported it to the Public Safety Office for additional investigation.”
