ROLLA, Mo. — Congratulations to Missouri S&T Chief of Police Douglas Roberts for being named one of this year’s higher education Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Hosted weekly meetings during the pandemic between city and county leaders, school districts, and hospitals to discuss best practices, strategies, issues, and community needs.
  • Installed more than 400 security cameras to act as a force multiplier and provide real-time intelligence related to campus events and activity.
  • Developed the “Coco with the PoPo” program to foster department engagement with students and other members of the campus community
