Waukesha, Wisconsin — Law enforcement officers fatally shot a man who pointed a firearm at them outside the emergency room entrance of Waukesha Memorial Hospital on Wednesday morning.

Authorities say officers from the Waukesha Police Department arrived at the hospital at about 1:30 a.m. in response to a report of a man with a gun in the parking lot, reports FOX6.

The officers then discharged their weapons, shooting the suspect. He was taken to the hospital emergency room for medical treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. No one else was injured during the ordeal.

A gun was found at the scene.

Authorities say the suspect was initially at the hospital for treatment in the emergency room. They are not looking for any other persons of interest.
