Virtua Health Assistant Vice President of Environmental Services, Security, and Safety Paul Sarnese

Congratulations to Virtua Health Assistant Vice President of Environmental Services, Security, and Safety Paul Sarnese for being named one of this year’s Healthcare Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Working with union representatives and homecare leadership, deployed a mobile application that provides an emergency panic button, virtual escorts and community warnings to homecare and community providers.
  • Led a team of volunteers to construct a sensory room at a mega COVID vaccination site for special needs patients. This room was used to vaccinate over 1,000 special needs children and adults and became the standard for all mega sites in New Jersey.
  • Acted as the deputy incident commander and organized and facilitated standing meetings with various agencies to manage the safety, security, communications, supplies, and care of more than 11,000 Afghan refugees.
