MIAMI — A student from Miami Norland Senior High School was taken to the hospital after being shot on the campus Tuesday. The shooter, who is possibly also a student, has not yet been found.
The two males were involved in an altercation on a campus ball field when the shooter pulled out a gun and discharged it several times, NBC Miami reports. The victim was hit in the buttocks. His injuries were not life threatening.
Miami Norland and nearby Norland Middle School, Norland Elementary and Norwood Elementary were placed on lockdown during the search for the suspect. The shooting took place 30 minutes after classes had already been dismissed.
The shooter fled the campus and has not been located.
