The first lawsuit against the University of Colorado related to July’s Aurora movie theater mass shooting has been filed by a widow of one of the victims.
She claims a school psychiatrist could have prevented the massacre if police had arrested him after he said he “fantasized about killing a lot of people,” reports NBC News. The university has received 11 notices of potential lawsuits from victims’ families.
Former University of Colorado PhD student James Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and injuring as many as 59 during the midnight premier of “The Dark Knight Rises.”
