School Security Remains High After 3 Weapons Incidents

KILLEEN, Texas — Students were caught with weapons on three different Killeen ISD middle school campuses last week.

The district will continue to use random metal detector scans and additional security officers will remain on the district’s 11 campuses, KWTX reports. Security will also remain heightened at Gateway Middle School and Gateway High School, which are alternative schools.

In two cases in which students were caught with weapons on Friday, classmates notified administrators and no shots were fired.
