SAN JOSE, Calif. — Two students from San Jose State University (SJSU) who were killed in a double-murder suicide in a campus parking garage on May 10 will be posthumously awarded bachelor’s degrees.
Cindy Caliguiran and Kyle Williams were less than three weeks away from graduating at the time of their deaths, Mercury News reports. Napoleon Caliguiran, Cindy’s husband who was nearly 30 years her senior, shot the two students multiple times and then turned the gun on himself.
Cindy and Williams were sitting in a black Mercedes in the campus parking garage when Napoleon opened fire. Nappy Caliguiran had no criminal record in Santa Clara County, and his friends were unaware that he owned a gun.
