1 Killed in North Carolina School Shooting

A school shooting situation in North Carolina remains active as police work to evacuate the Wayne County Community College.

At least one person was reportedly killed in a school shooting on the campus of a community college in North Carolina.

The mayor of Goldsboro, North Carolina said police were searching for the shooter and confirmed there was at least one death in a school shooting on the campus of Wayne County Community College Monday morning.

According to a Wayne County crime twitter account, the college is being evacuated and a nearby elementary school is on lockdown as the situation is still active. A school official said police have one suspect “under control.”

Law enforcement officials said gas may have been deployed and have asked the fire department to deploy fans to clear smoke out of one of the buildings.
