In 2022, 35.2% of U.S. adults who identified as two or more races/ethnicities reported a mental illness in the previous year.
Comparatively, 24.6% of Caucasian adults reported a mental illness, followed by 21.4% of Hispanic or Latino adults, 19.7% of Black or African American adults, 19.6% of American Indian/Alaskan Native adults, and 16.8% of Asian adults.
Furthermore, African Americans and Hispanic Americans use mental health services at about one-half the rate of Caucasian Americans; Asian Americans use it at about one-third of the rate.
