Spotlight on Campus Safety Director of the Year Finalist Paul Cross

Congratulations to MD Anderson Cancer Center & UTHealth/Texas Medical Center Assistant Chief of Police Paul Cross for being named one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Improved the active shooter drills and adopted the “Secure, Preserve, Fight” approach. More than 20 drills have been conducted since 2018.
  • A recent employee engagement survey found officer/employee satisfaction has improved within his department.
  • Injected new energy into his department’s participation in MD Anderson’s annual Boot Walk, benefitting the hospital’s cancer research efforts.
