Special Event Parking Basics

Cashier location, pedestrian walkways and appropriate revenue control help to ensure your event will run smoothly.

9 SPECIAL EVENT PARKING TIPS

  1. A successful event requires advanced planning and coordination
  2. Be creative in getting attendees off the street and into the parking facility quickly and safely
  3. Keep RV and bus parking areas separate from cars and motorcycles. This will keep traffic moving and allow the buses and RVs to maneuver freely and not worry about cars in their blind spots
  4. Designate walkways for pedestrians – this will keep pedestrians safe and vehicular traffic moving
  5. For paid parking events, charge the customers when they enter. This will speed up the exit and help create a posit
ive last impression of the event.
  6.  Utilize numbered tickets, and keep cashiers safe by limiting the amount of cash in their possession
  7. Hold cashiers accountable for their work by reconciling tickets sold with cash collected
  8. Keep traffic directors safe by providing them with proper training and safety equipment
  9. Utilize all available exits and make every effort to ensure a quick and safe exit for attendees
