10 School Safety Dos and Don’ts Caught on Camera by Security Consultants

This faith-based school utilizes a simple but highly effective approach to reduce the risks of harm from both statistically likely and rare but catastrophic events.

The use of a “stay back” line and the creation of no parking zones next to the sidewalk reduces the risks of students being accidentally hit by a vehicle while also reducing the risk exposure from less likely scenarios, like an abduction or a vehicle ramming incident.

In this case, the school has limited ability to use anti-ramming bollards on a city street and sidewalk, but these measures, in combination with the morning and afternoon traffic patterns, student release approaches and other measures not depicted or described here, reduce any array of potential risks significantly.
