Allied Universal, a facilities service company, and the Clery Center, a non-profit training and policy organization, announces its release of a series of video-based roll call training tools for campus public safety personnel.
The tool, called “The First Step: Public Safety Roll Call Video Series”, was created by the Clery Center and consists of free 5-10 minute videos with accompanying companion guides.
Allied Universal and Clery Center declared its joint partnership earlier this year. The announcement for the release of the new training tool comes during National Campus Safety Awareness Month.
“This training collaboration came about as a response to the need for quality and consistency in campus security officer training. We are grateful for the willingness of Allied Universal to be a part of the solution,” says Clery Center Executive Director Alison Kiss. “We hope these videos spark important campus conversations on how officers can best connect with and support members of their own unique campus communities and open the door to more in-depth training on these critical topics.”
The training modules feature adult learning principles and quizzes which assess user knowledge of the subject matter. Some of the topics include:
- The role of Campus Security Authorities under the Clery Act
- Sexual assault and higher education law
- Trauma informed response
- Communicating with the campus community
- Being an essential part of the fabric of campus culture and
- The importance of campus public safety officers in the broader campus community
