A man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound fired a handgun at the locked doors of a Virginia hospital then fired his weapons again once inside the facility.
William Brock, 52, has been charged with felony destruction of property and shooting into an occupied building after being arrested Feb. 10, according to wtop.com.
Police say Brock travelled to Reston Hospital Center around 1:30 a.m. with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on his upper-body. When Brock found the glass door he went to was locked, he shot at the door, shattering it.
After gaining entry to the hospital, nurses realized Brock needed medical attention and approached him for treatment. At that point Brock displayed his handgun and fired another shot. No one was hurt in the incident.

Hospital security officers were able to convince Brock to give up his weapon and he was stabilized before being taken to another hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Brock is being monitored by Fairfax County police at the hospital with no bond.
Investigators say Brock attempted to use the Pavilion entrance of the hospital, not the emergency room entrance, and that’s why the door was locked.
