Woman Fatally Shoots Husband, Self at Vegas Hospital

LAS VEGAS—A woman fatally wounded her husband before turning the gun on herself at Valley Hospital.

The unnamed woman shot her 55-year-old husband in his fourth floor private room around 5 a.m. on Aug. 13, reports 8newsnow.com. Her husband, who has not been identified, was admitted to the hospital on Aug. 10 with a deteriorating illness and an unknown mental condition. The woman had been staying the night in her husband’s room.

Weeks before the incident, the hospital implemented a new response method called, “Code Silver.”

No one else was injured during the incident, nor was the hospital evacuated.
