Wife Shoots Husband Outside N.C. Elementary School

No students were injured during the incident.

A suspected domestic violence incident occurred in the parking lot of a North Carolina elementary school September 22.

About 15 minutes after Central Elementary School was let out a woman allegedly shot her husband twice in their parked car after picking up their third grader, according to wcnc.com.

The husband is being treated at the hospital and, while no one else was hurt, officials estimate there were around 75 kids on campus at the time of the incident, including many playing outside.

Following the shooting the wife sent her third grade child back inside the school to call 911.

Neither parent’s identity has been revealed. The wife has been arrested although charges have not been made public.

Counselors will be on campus this week for students and staff.
