A video surveillance camera captured a man heroically saving his son during a carjacking.

Malcolm Milliones pulled into a gas station with his fiancée and eight-year-old son, Rahsaan, on June 14. When Milliones and his fiancée stepped out of the car, a man jumped through the window of his fiancée’s white SUV. Rahsaan was still in the back seat, My Fox Atlanta reports.

The video shows Milliones grabbing onto the SUV as the suspect sped away from the gas station.

The father said he was probably dragged about 500 feet before the suspect slowed down, which allowed Rahsaan enough time to jump out of the car. Milliones was eventually thrown to the side and suffered a broken elbow.
