SURREY, B.C. — A wounded student was found early Wednesday morning near an entrance to the Surrey Central City campus of Simon Fraser University. The girl, who had been shot, later died in a hospital.
Maple Batalia, 19, was also a model and actress who had a small part in the film Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Chronicle Herald reports. Police said it was unclear if Batalia knew her attacker.
Harkirat Batalia, Maple’s father, said he believes the person who shot his daughter was an old schoolmate.
