Student, 8, Suspended for Using Fingers as Gun
OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Harmony Community School suspended an 8-year-old boy Friday for using his fingers as a pretend gun during a game of cops and robbers with a classmate.
A representative for the Osceola County School District maintains that the Jordan Bennett violated the school’s code of conduct. However, Bennett’s mother is outraged at her son’s suspension, stating that the student has never had any disciplinary problems. The suspension, she says, will blemish his record, New York Daily News reports.
Bennett’s mother says she is willing to take the case to court to remove the suspension from her son’s school record.
