SMU Suspect Dies After Falling From Crane
DALLAS, TX— A man fell to his death Tuesday after climbing to the top of a construction crane at Southern Methodist University.
The man was engaged in a 15-hour standoff with the Dallas SWAT team before his fall, The 33 News reports. Officials tried to distract the man with bright lights, sirens and helicopters while they climbed up the crane. But when SWAT team members reached the man, they claim he sprayed an oily substance at them before climbing out of the crane’s cab and falling.
