Security On Campus (SOC) has updated its Jeanne Clery Act Training Seminars to include the latest requirements that recently went into effect.
Registration is now open for 2010’s first sessions. Seminars are scheduled for July 7-8, in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania’s Division of Public Safety in Philadelphia and July 19-20, in partnership with Northwestern University’s University Police Department in the Chicago area. SOC is also working on sessions for Massachusetts, the Southwest and West Coast with plans to announce dates and locations in the near future.
Each day and a half long seminar walks participants through each aspect of compliance including:
- Collecting, classifying and counting crime statistics
- Ongoing disclosures – timely warning and public crime log
- Victim support services and security programs
- Annual security report
Additionally, the presentation has been updated to include the new requirements related to:
- Emergency response and immediate notification
- Expanded hate crime reporting
- Partnering with local police

At the conclusion of this interactive, multidisciplinary training, participants will be equipped with the tools necessary to address all reporting requirements in a comprehensive manner. Campus security and police, student affairs, legal counsel, residential life, victim advocates, admissions officers and human resources staff are encouraged to attend.
