Arapahoe High School Security Guard Cameron Rust is claiming in a Facebook post that the school and the Littleton School District should have done more to prevent the Dec. 13 campus shooting that left two students dead and one injured.
Rust says the shooter, Karl Pierson, should have received help and administrators should have addressed the many concerns about the boy that were reported to them, reports 9news.com. The security officer claims the security team and teachers expressed concerns about Pierson to the administration. Additionally, a death threat was made by Pierson against the target of the shooting, but no action was taken.
Rust also claims the security team was in the process of bringing their concerns to the public’s attention but was unable to do so prior to the incident.
The Facebook post also alleges that the security team was reprimanded by administrators for documenting concerning activities.
