Rockhurst U. Security Officer Shoots, Kills Armed Man Near Campus

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Rockhurst University security officer responding to a minor off-campus vehicle accident shot and killed a man who was waving his gun and yelling at bystanders.

The man had repeatedly rammed the rear end of a woman’s car on Thursday afternoon, reports the Kansas City Star. After the collision, the suspect even chased a doctor who offered his assistance after the crash.

When the security officer responded to the scene, the suspect pointed his gun at him. The officer fired one shot, killing the man. The officer was summoned to the scene when an employee at a nearby business pressed a panic button.
