Remains of Calif. Nursing Student Found in Canyon

HAYWARD, Calif. — Police said Sept. 19 that they have found the remains of a nursing student from Samuel Merritt University who disappeared in May.

The Alameda County coroner confirmed that the remains found in a San Francisco Bay area canyon were those of Michelle Le, the Associated Press reports. The coroner has not yet confirmed the cause of death.

Giselle Esteban, a former friend of Le’s, was arrested and charged with murder earlier this month. Prosecutors believe Esteban, who is pregnant, attacked Le in the parking garage of the hospital where Le worked.
