Bristol, Pennsylvania – A male patient was arrested on Monday for causing nearly $13,000 in damages to Lower Bucks Hospital’s COVID-19 patient area.
The suspect has been identified as Dudley Fleury Ulysse, 24, reports Levittownnow.com. He was charged with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
Local police responded to a report of a patient being “aggressive and breaking things.” Officers found Ulysse in a negative pressure room that’s designated for COVID-19 patients. Water was on the floor, a window was broken, holes were in the wall and hospital equipment was broken.
While two security officers were restraining the patient, he spit in their faces, saying, “I have coronavirus and now y’all have it too,” reports Levittownnow.com. One of the security officers was also scraped during the incident.
Ulysse was informed earlier in the day that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. Police said that he then “went into a rage,” throwing things and flooding the toilet after he locked himself in the bathroom.
The estimated damage from the incident is more than $12,900.
