SYCAMORE, Ohio – The Sycamore Community Schools will spend $338,000 to secure entrances at its schools to increase safety.
The security upgrades will require all to be buzzed into the building by a receptionist, who will be able to see them through glass entryways. The Ohio School Facilities Commission gave a $49,000 grant to help the district fund the project, Cincinnati.com reports.
Additionally, the district will lock the entrance doors to all the schools during the day, but will allow teachers and other individuals to walk into the buildings for special events, such as open houses.
Construction for the project will begin in the summer.
