Published: November 5, 2013

SHRUB OAK, N.Y. — The Lakeland Central School District has proposed a plan to spend $14.5 million to upgrade its video surveillance and add access control.

District officials have asked community members to vote on the bond proposition on Nov. 19. As part of the plan, LCSD wants to replace analog cameras with digital ones, as well as add cameras in areas where there are none.

The proposal also includes the addition of double entrance vestibules in all buildings, swipe card readers at building entry points, new lock sets and upgraded PA systems, Yorktown-Somers Patch reports.

If approved, the district anticipates the project to begin in the summer of 2014.
