N.C. College Cops Shoot Man who Fired AK-47 on Campus

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — A former student at a North Carolina university who was seen carrying an AK-47 rifle on campus was shot by police, taken into custody, and charged on Saturday.

Rashaad Gardner was charged with assault by pointing a gun,  possession of a weapon on state educational property and going armed to the terror of the people. Gunshots were heard on the campus at 2:30 a.m., reports Fox News.

Campus police on patrol at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, N.C., about 50 miles south of Norfolk, Va., saw students running from part of the campus and saying they had seen a man with a rifle.
