Microsoft Azure Announces Top Priority Customers During Coronavirus Outbreak
COVID-19 has prompted Microsoft Azure to designate first responders, health and emergency management services, critical government infrastructure and remote workers as the company’s top priority during the crisis.
If Microsoft is faced with any cloud capacity constraints in any region during the COVID-19 crisis, top priority will go to first responders, health and emergency management services, critical government infrastructure and keeping remote workers up and running.
In an Azure blog post, Microsoft said it has developed clear criteria for the priority of new cloud capacity.
Those on the front lines against the novel coronavirus and those shifting to a work-from-home model due to government-imposed restrictions will be given priority, the company said.
The company also highlighted the use of Microsoft Teams — the firm’s flagship collaboration app — and Dynamics 365 Customer Service and how its services are helping enterprises adapt to this new reality of remote work.
Microsoft is also considering adjusting free offers to ensure support of existing customers.
