A relative told the Daily News that Newtown, Conn., mass murderer Adam Lanza was bullied and beaten by classmates when he attended Sandy Hook Elementary School, but school officials didn’t do anything about it.
At one point, Lanza’ mother Nancy considered suing the school.
Lanza, 20, shot and killed 26 students and staff at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December before turning the gun on himself. Before attacking the school, he shot and killed his mother in the home that they shared.
When he was a young child, Lanza was diagnosed with sensory integration disorder, according to Raising Adam Lanza, a Frontline investigative report. Individuals who have this disorder overreact to stimuli and are unable to bear physical contact, light, sound, clothing or food. With some people, as in Lanza’s case, they feel little or no reaction to pain or extreme temperatures. As a result, Lanza sought complete isolation.
