Alleged Murderer Apprehended by Hospital Security Staff

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has taken a 21-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a 21-year-old woman into custody. Christopher Woods was spotted by security officers at Community North Hospital.

Woods allegedly shot and killed Sparkle Majors on Monday, and then fled the scene, WXIN reports. A manhunt for Woods caused nearby schools to be put on lockdown.

Woods was apprehended by hospital security after a short chase on Tuesday evening. He faces charges of murder and possession of a firearm without a permit.
