2 Dead in Shooting at Texas VA Clinic

A doctor was killed and the gunman took his own life.

EL PASO, Texas – A gunman opened fire at the El Paso VA Health Care System clinic on Tuesday, killing one other person. The shooter is also dead.

The El Paso Times is reporting that a doctor was killed and that the gunman took his own life at around 3 p.m. in a building next to William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss. Neither the male shooter nor his victim have been identified by authorities.

The FBI is leading the investigation and will be interviewing hundreds of possible witnesses, reports the Associated Press.

The clinic will be closed Wednesday.
