MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay — Two male nurses were charged Sunday with the murder of 16 patients at two Uruguayan hospitals. A female nurse was charged with covering up a crime.
Judge Rolando Vomero said that the patients were injected with overdoses of morphine, causing “death within minutes,” the Associated Press reports. There is no indication the two male nurses were acting together.
The allegations center on the private Sociedad Espanola hospital and the public Maciel Hospital.
