ATLANTA — One hundred and seventy eight educators allegedly involved in a teaching scandal have been asked to resign or face termination proceedings by the superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools.
In a letter, Superintendent Erroll B. Davis Jr. gave educators the opportunity to resign by Wednesday, CNN reports. The educators who received the letter were listed on a report about the state Criterion-Reference Competency Tests as having confessed to or having been implicated in testing improprieties
Davis has been given approval by the school board to mandate ethics training for employees and to provide remedial help for students who were improperly advanced due to the cheating.
