17 High School Athletes Allegedy Hazed at Football Camp

SENECA, Mo.— A woman is claiming her son and 16 others were beaten by their teammates during a football camp in early June.

The police report says 15 upperclassmen beat the younger players with rods, according to the Joplin Globe. Some may have even rubbed their genitals on the underclassmen’s faces.

So far, eight players have been charged with aggravated battery and misdemeanor battery.

Approximately 50 Seneca High School football team members attended the camp at Pittsburg (Kan.) State University.

The mother learned of the alleged hazing incident after her son sent a text to another family member July 22.
