WATERLOO, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Education is implementing a new anti-bullying policy at select schools this year. Eventually, it plans to introduce the policy statewide.
The change comes after a report that showed Iowa districts reported less than 2 percent of their students had been bullied, the Associated Press reports. The national average is 30 percent or more.
The new policy has 17 categories and includes verbal, physical and electronic bullying.
