ISC West 2018 wrapped up last week in Las Vegas, bringing over 30,000 security professionals to the largest physical security event in the country.

This year’s show featured over 1,000 exhibitors and brands and nearly 100 SIA educational sessions on hot topics such as cyber security, access management, video surveillance and IoT. The 2018 show floor was 4,000 feet larger than last year, making it the largest exhibit in the event’s 50-year history. There was also a six percent growth in overall attendees.

“There’s nothing better than hearing someone on the show floor say, ‘ISC West is like the Super Bowl of security events,’” said Will Wise, group vice president of the ISC security portfolio. “At the end of the day, it’s so rewarding knowing that exhibitors and attendees – from end-users to integrators to dealers/installers to consultants and engineers – feel that ISC West made a measurable business impact for them.”

New this year was the Emerging Technology Zone, which gave 40 startup businesses the opportunity to showcase their products and solutions in hopes to revolutionize the security industry.

Additionally, ISC West consisted of over 25 special events, including the 23rd SAMMY Awards, hosted by our sister publication Security Sales & IntegrationThe SAMMYs recognize dealers and integrators for their sales, marketing business and installation superiority in the physical security industry.

Also added this year was SIA’s New Product Showcase awards ceremony, where over 120 product entries were pitched to leading industry experts and winners were chosen in nearly 30 categories.

The Campus Safety team, along with the Security Sales & Integration team, hustled around the show floor, looking at new and improved security technologies and taking in everything the busy show floor had to offer.

Did we mention that our very own Robin Hattersley sang the National Anthem at the opening ceremony?
