25 Security Technologies to Watch

Dolph’s Pick: SecurityTronix Coax-Based HD Video

If you want to upgrade your video surveillance system, you need to have a cost-effective and reliable method for upgrading to newer high-definition cameras and still use the existing coax cable. You may have heard of a technology called HD-SDI. While this is a good option, there is a newer kid on the block that boasts being even better.

I am speaking of the HD-Coaxinator from SecurityTronix. You can get 720p and 1080p HD resolution, truer colors than analog, pan/tilt/zoom and audio on the same coax, plus cable runs up to 1,650 feet! From what I hear, it is also supposed to be much more tolerant of imperfect coax connections than some had encountered with HD-SDI.
