The vandalism is being investigated by campus and D.C. police as a suspected hate crime with anti-Jewish hate bias or motivation.
The shooting, which happened during Grambling State’s Homecoming week, is the second shooting on the campus in just four days.
The shooting, which involved two non-students, happened during a non-sanctioned event outside the Grambling State student union building.
Six members of the commission, formed to improve community relations with campus police, said most of their recommendations haven’t been implemented.
The ban prohibits all local law enforcement agencies and campus police departments from using the technology unless expressly authorized by the state legislature.
Days prior, Nederland police were called to the man’s home twice and records described him as suicidal and homicidal.
After the task force’s findings were released, Chancellor Kim A. Wilcox announced an immediate hiring freeze on all UCPD officers.
Police were patrolling the area when they heard gunshots and saw suspects in two vehicles shooting each other.
Students say they previously requested additional security measures and that BU officials are downplaying the severity of the break-ins.
