For more than a quarter century, Morse Watchmans has been the world leader in key control solutions, and they will once again be exhibiting at ISC West, March 28-31.

Campus Safety caught up with Morse Watchmans Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tim Purpura to find out what visitors to his company’s booth can expect to see.

Campus Safety: What is the top product or offering your company is showing off at ISC West this year, and what makes it special? How does it apply to healthcare facilities, schools and/or higher education security, public safety and/or emergency management?

Tim Purpura: We are showcasing our popular, award-winning KeyWatcher Touch®. It’s hard to believe that we invented electronic key control 30 years ago this year. That’s just another reason to celebrate the global success of this product. Our original KeyWatcher system, which is offered as a non-networked system, evolved into our newest, networkable third-generation KeyWatcher Touch system currently used in education and healthcare campuses globally.

Campus security managers, facilities managers, and department heads can track key removals and returns and manage assets within sturdy and secure key control cabinets powered by our robust TrueTouch software. Administrators can easily program the system to release specific keys at specific times to only authorized users. It’s very easy to use, which makes it popular for healthcare and educational campus physical plant and security departments.

CS: What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of their qualities and benefits?

Purpura: Morse Watchmans also offers the KeyWatcher Fleet®, which is a combination of electronic key control and fleet management applications. The KeyBank® Touch is ideal for large quantities of keys in auto dealerships and multi-tenant properties. The SmartKey® Locker Touch system stores assets such as cell phones, laptops, hand-held radios, small weapons and more. These product solutions provide added safety and security for both physical property and people on healthcare and educational campuses.

CS: How do your company and its offerings address the needs of hospitals, schools and/or universities?

Purpura: Campus settings in healthcare, schools and universities are always evolving and changing with renovations, expansions, new construction, and demolition of obsolete buildings. Employing electronic key control during these changes on campus is instrumental to keep ongoing inventory, accountability, and security for master keys and duplicates to the new buildings and to purge them from the system when buildings are torn down or renovated. This also helps to prevent keys from getting into the wrong hands for misuse, preventing trespassing in buildings and areas that are unsafe, off limits, or restricted. Also, electronic key control can be integrated with other security technology investments to improve security and safety communications and information.

CS: What else is new or noteworthy about your company for 2023?

Tim Purpura

Purpura: Besides celebrating 30 years of our electronic key control systems, we celebrate the second year of Morse Watchmans being acquired by TouchPoint, Inc. TouchPoint is a global growth company with a portfolio that includes access hardware, medical technology, and intelligent inventory management technology. Morse Watchmans joined the intelligent inventory management platform with our sister company, SupplyPoint. You will notice at expos such as the ISC West, that we will be displaying and showcasing SupplyPoint’s modular locker systems for larger scale asset management, which complements our key control and asset management product portfolio. With TouchPoint’s steady and supportive leadership, we look forward to new opportunities for product, territory, and market growth.

CS: What is your company’s overall value proposition to schools, universities and/or hospitals? Why should they do business with you?

Purpura: We achieved record sales in 2022. We attribute this to our customers knowing they are getting high-quality and value for their security technology investment that delivers world-class electronic key control solutions. Our existing education and healthcare campus customers keep coming back to us to purchase additional systems, and they often refer us to new customers. Along with reliable and dependable products, Morse Watchmans has great warranties, technical support, and customer service. We continually listen to and learn from our customers so we can deliver exceptional electronic key control and asset management solutions to them for optimal security solutions.

“Stay tuned for more product enhancements and developments. As the global leader of electronic key control and asset management solutions, we are always addressing our customers’ needs in the best way we can, and always strive to fulfill their wish lists.”
