At Campus Safety Conference West (CSC West) held in Las Vegas last week, event sponsor Transact demonstrated a whole host of new applications and features.
One of those applications is the company’s new Near Field Communications (NFC)-enabled mobile credential on student cell phones that works the same way a student ID card works. Transact’s mobile credential can be used on iPhones, Apple Watches and Android devices and allows students to access their dorm rooms, do their laundry, complete cashless transactions and more.
Transact is the first campus card company to provide a direct integration for iOS devices, as well as Android devices.
Right now, the solution has been implemented at several college campuses, including the University of Oklahoma, University of Alabama, Duke University, Johns Hopkins, Temple University and more.
