Students’ Cameras Catch School Security Officers Stealing

The officers, who have not been identified, were caught taking things from students’ lockers.

High school students in Illinois caught security officers stealing their belongings from lockers after setting up iPhones to record while they were in class.

Three students at Evanston Township High School took part in the experiment after money and other things had gone missing from their locked lockers in recent weeks, according to dailymail.co.uk.

The videos captured two officers from the school in greater Chicago rummaging through the lockers and taking things.

Students then brought the video, featured below, to the school principal and around 100 students gathered around the school’s dean’s office April 28 to demand the officers be fired. School officials have opened an investigation with the Evanston Police Department to determine if criminal charges should be brought against the officers.

One student, 17-year-old junior Malachi Clark, estimated that 10 to 15 of his classmates have been the victims of locker theft. “They’ll lock their lockers and they’ll have $20 or $40 missing,” McKay says.

The school sent a letter to parents acknowledging its investigation and assuring parents and students that officials will take “appropriate actions as more details become available.”
