How Teachers, Administrators Can Respond to Active Shooters

The Harris County Department of Education’s Center for Safe and Secure Schools hosted a comprehensive training program on Feb. 6 and 7 to help schools prepare for and respond to active shooter incidents.

In the class, attendees learned how to use classroom supplies, such as computer cables, extension chords and tables to barricade a classroom door. Here they are using improvised weapons, such as chairs, to protect themselves.
