Notable Achievements:

  • Installed more than 480 security cameras across the campuses and an electronic door locking system, visitor management system and electronic keycard entry system at each campus.
  • Integrated its active shooter training with the automated management of lockdown drills.
  • Created a “Continuity Group” consisting of FBI officials, local fire and police, Great Oaks IT and communications staff, counselors and administrators to help a campus recover more quickly from a crisis.

Notable Achievements:

  • Petitioned for an automatic records management system and security dispatcher, resulting in faster officer response times and more accurate reporting of incidents.
  • Upgraded locks at all access points so the campus would remain secure during the event of a power loss.
  • Organized and oversaw the largest full-scale mass casualty incident exercise in Colorado to date, involving 14 different agencies.

  • Installation of a video surveillance system at the school’s football stadium led to the 5X increase in resolutions of criminal investigations of incidents at games.

  • Has increased department operations despite having a smaller budget than his predecessor.

  • Increased officer retention from an average of 2 years to an average of 5 years.
  • Secured funding to increase the current number of video surveillance cameras on campus from 100 to 200.
  • Implemented stronger security measures on campus, including perimeter fences; classroom and office door locks that can be locked from the inside; improved facility access control; and the ability to lockdown the campus during emergencies.

Eric Plummer

Notable Achievements:

  • Transformed the relationship between the Police Department and the student community into a relationship built on mutual respect and trust. 
  • Developed a vehicle assistance program. More than 400 assists were done during the first year of the program.
  • Developed a fully functioning 24-hour operations center with building emergency action plans.

Carlos Sanchez

Notable Achievements:

  • To reach out to students, he created a three-on-three basketball tournament with more than 2,000 students participating in the program.
  • Saved money, reduced the rate of student truancy and improved visitor management by implementing a bicycle patrol unit.
  • Worked with the local police department to create an education program for undocumented students on how to stay safe and not get involved with gangs.
